There are now 5 Councils which make the AAP a 4-legged bench rather than the threelegged stool! The Management Committees of the ALF are continuously working on new rules and procedures to make this the best ALF yet. The Chapter Forum Management Committee has already "fast-tracked" six Resolutions to the AAP Board that they felt couldn't wait for next March, inasmuch as there was no ALF in 2006 because of the change in the AAP calendar. It is through the ALF that the AAP leadership can respond and act on your concerns in an efficient and effective manner. It is YOUR Academy. As your District Representative on the Chapter Forum Management Committee, I solicit your good ideas and encourage you to write Resolutions on any issues you feel are important that promote the health and welfare of children and adolescents as well as those issues that concern the profession of Pediatrics and those who practice it.
