In this transition from an information society to a knowledge society, we can see that there is minimization of the optimization of decision-making based on foresight and there is an emphasis on pre-cognition and adaptability. In an information society, change is regarded and happens in a non-continuous way, whereas in a knowledge society, change is processed more and more in real time63. This knowledge should be centred both on the citizen and on health system professionals. The interface between these participants should be structured so as to ensure effective interaction, which should be as efficient as possible. Frequently lasts throughout the feeding, and occasionally continues after the feeding has ended. An established VX2 tumor cell line of papilloma virus-induced squamous cell carcinoma was provided by S. Nahum Goldberg, MD, of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, Massachusetts. The tumor was propagated in male New Zealand white rabbits that weighted approximately 2 kg. Approximately 5 million tumor cells were injected intramuscularly into one thigh of each sedated rabbit. When the tumor reached a diameter of approximately 2 cm in weeks, it was harvested from the anesthetized animals by using sterile techniques. Small pieces of the tumor 2 4 mm3 ; were dissected and placed in 10% dimethyl sulfoxide in pure calf serum, which was then stored in liquid nitrogen. For implantation in the liver, the frozen tumor was rapidly thawed and washed in McCoy's medium.

We have set up a working group to look at implementing a chemical incident response plan for our Trust. A Conference on chemical and biological terrorism was planned and took place on 4th-5th March of this year see page 32 for report ; . Key national speakers supported the conference by lecturing and running scenario-based workshops for 60 delegates; the Department of Health funded the conference on the basis of a Regional pilot, which could be rolled out nationally. We are now much more aware of the role of the Chemical Incident Response Service, which has a 24 hour help-line for advice on responding to chemical incidents, as well as the ability to offer additional support by making site visits. We will be running regular practice incidents within our Department to ensure that all staff are kept up to speed with our procedures, equipment, and how to seek expert help. The Department now has completed a Chemical Incident Response Plan.

More recently, Peno-Green and coworkers2 November 2002 ; reported the first case of lung injury to occur while the patient was receiving etanercept. Although the molecular players in RA are still poorly understood, representative proinflammatory cytokines, such as TNF- and interleukin IL ; -1, have proven to be major contributors to this disease. However, there are few studies elucidating the role of TNF- in the pulmonary lesions of RA. The contrary effects of TNF- inhibitors on the pulmonary lesions of RA in the published case reports in CHEST might have depended on the severity of the disease affecting the lung parenchyma. Over a decade ago, Gosset et al3 elucidated the roles of the release of TNF- and IL-1 from alveolar macrophages in patients and glucagon.
